The next time you’re in school, take a peek at the new, creative addition to the Media Center! It’s an interactive Poetry Wall, conceived, created, and donated by Girl Scout Troop 3468.
Led by three Sharon moms, Girl Scouts Abby Linker, Elise Cannon, Elizabeth Moore, Elizabeth Turner, Eva Irrera, Hannah Hochstrasser, Megan McCranie and Sophie Hunniford worked on this project over the course of several months. The troop and their parents held a grand unveiling and celebration on May 19th!
Troop members began their creative venture by painting decorative signage as well as the wall itself. With that complete, they set to fabricating themed “word banks” of hundreds of words. Their combined talents resulted in quite a masterpiece!
This entire effort was directed toward the troop’s Bronze Award, the highest honor Girl Scout Juniors can achieve. Projects of this level are designed to make a lasting impact on the community, and this one certainly has. Already young poets have given it a whirl and many more will for years to come! Thanks Troop 3468!
